Muslims Protest Freddy Mercury’s Birthday

http://www.rockstar.it/img/freddy_mercury.jpg

(Zanzibar, Tanzania) Muslims are outraged at the planned 60th birthday celebration for deceased rock star and Zanzibar native Freddy Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara, because his sexual preferences and flamboyant lifestyle insulted Islam.

From Independent Online:

In a strongly worded letter to the semi-autonomous Tanzanian archipelago’s culture ministry, a group of conservative Muslims said plans to honour the lead singer of the supergroup Queen at a gala bash next month must be stopped.”There are people claiming that Freddie Mercury is a Zanzibari but he grew up outside Zanzibar and then changed his name,” the islands’ association for Islamic Mobilisation and Propagation (UAMSHO) said in the letter.

“Associating Mercury with Zanzibar degrades our island as a place of Islam,” UAMSHO chief Abdallah Said Ali wrote, adding that the singer was known to have been gay, died of AIDS and had lived a wild life many Muslims would condemn.

“Allowing such a function for a person known outside Zanzibar as a homosexual tarnishes the name of Zanzibar,” he said in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by AFP. “Let us protect our good culture.”

I would speculate that any rock star, not just homosexual ones, would offend Islam. The tolerance exhibited by followers of the religion of peace pretty much stops when an electric guitar is plugged into an amplifier.Companion post at Interested-Participant.

: You know what this blog needs? More music by ex-Muslim gay apostates! We are the Champions and We will rock you. I think Freddy Mercury actually wrote these songs to mock the loser Islamists in Zanzibar……

The man had some great music and he is dead. Does it matter who he was screwing now? (sigh)

I’m going to hold up a middle finger to all the Muslims in Tanzania (where Zanzibar is for those who do not know) and give them some of what Freddy would say…

“I am immortal, I have the sacred blood of kings,

I have no rivals, no man can be my equal

take me to the future of of you all…” (b1tches)!!  :-)  Okay I added in that last one.

For those that don’t know, Mercury was not even Muslim. He was born were:

“arrokh Bulsara on the African island of Zanzibar (at the time a British colony, now part of Tanzania).[2] His parents, Bomi and Jer Bulsara, were Indian Parsis,[1] Zoroastrians of Persian descent. The family had emigrated to Zanzibar in order for Bomi to continue his job as a middle-ranking cashier at the British Colonial Office. Mercury had one younger sister, Kashmira.[2]”

Parsis are decendants of Persians who fled Iran when Muslim Arabs invaded it during one of their big Jihads. they ended up going to present day India and Pakistan. During Indian colonial times, many Parsis went to look for the Empire…just like other South Asians and ended up in some unsual places.

I know that Freddie Mercury is NOT a fu##ing MUSLIM! And how i kow that is, i have done 3 years of research, and this is the first website that i have seen that says he is a muslim.

And how in the world could ANYBODY possible be offended by the ghostly emortal spirit of Freddie Mercury! I know for sure that i am most certainly NOT! I can sometimes feel his presence near me, and i am not lying. And yes, it does make me sad. But i am not affended by it!

Freddie Mercury was one of the best musicians of all times, apart from (elvis and michael) and he was so tallented. I will love him till the day i die… And i am only 12, so that’ll be a long time.

YEH I KNOW.

Nicolette (00:39:41) :

but i’v seen on other websites that say he is. And that is bullshit! Do you think he is? i dont! he is so cool, and i love him to death.!

29 10 2006
rasfarengi (00:42:29) :

Uhm…those people are obviously mistaken, maybe they assume he is Muslim because he was a Parsis and they basically Persian in origin…so since most Iranians (the majority being Persian) are Muslim…

Whatever the case…associate cool or not cool with being Muslim.

I just felt that people were so upset over the sex life of a man who died a many years ago is kind of stupid.

This is to Brian May,
Mr. May,
I really enjoy all and I mean ALL of Queen’s work. Especially your guitar playing, and your personality. You are one of the most respected musicians in Canada and throughout the entire world. Thank you for everything you’ve given us and look forward to hearing more from you and Queen. Although I am a drummer ..you still fascinate me…you’re a very intelligent musician…hard to find that now in today’s music. Please give Roger my best as well…another true inspiration in music. Freddie was the best entertainer any audience ever saw. To those offended by him……oh well…get over it.

Freddis is the greatest man who chose in his life to stroll to the beat of a differant drummer, yes he was a man whom for years dawdeled and dabbled in his sexuality and tried desperately to find love and companionship. He felt he was never really understood and thus went from his long time female partner and companion to the man he’d spend his love and life with. Neither Freddie, nor his spirit pose any threat to the Muslim’s as he was a lover of prople and of life! His music was under rated and showed cast creativity as musician who expressed himself from the inside out.

This was a very touching tribute from a man who is hiding he is homosexual by nature why are you denying yourself the love you seek. To me you seem so sincere and yet childish to write such a sulliliquy of praise for a man so odd in his own right and claim to be similar. Why do you refuse yourself the love you so desperately seek by writing these things it is visible and not experiencing love at the level you speak of will leave you alone and miserable. Did you know that Freddie did just that, for years he was with women because of pressure from his ethnicity, his desire to be normal, his fear of changing what the world would think of him! I am curious why you would go out of your way to express such love and sympathy for a man who’s life was less than ordinary, yet you claim to be his mouth and at such an intimate level? Have you asked yourself what kind of man speaks this way without owning his sexuality and denying himself a deeper meaning? Friend of Freddie, stop lying to yourself because the spirit within must be freed in order to live life as we are meant to.

You are even more strange not to address the issue of the Muslims fear of Freddie’s spirit and instead professing some very emotional words from a guy who is trying to fight that he is in the closet. Ask yourself this, do you love women or think they are all alike? Do you want to marry, are you married, have you been married? Do you think women are pigs by nature and do you have a deep respect for those you have loved? Do you or did you treat them all as women should be treated and give them their due? Do you find a reason in every relationship to end it, or do you prevent it from going to the next leverl? If any of these are true, come out and be who God meant you to be!

Remember Freddie was not judged for being a lover of a man or a woman, but a lover of life! Try it you might like it! Why else would a man who is blogging openly state his first & last name, unless he is looking for some reply, some connection? Who are you and what is your game?

Freddie was the great lover of life, so I say it to you and the Muslims - love yourself first so that you can find inner peace and true love itself. If you can’t love you, then no one else will and never expect it to happen. That love is only supreficial and when you graduate to a higher level and learn the meaning of LOVE you would have accomplished much more. So love yourself, love your partner like there is no tomorrow and you will find there is no excuse not to celebrate who you are! Now please keep the theme of loving at a higher level, first yourself and then others & give the public the ability to have a tribute to a man who knew his own heart and sang of it’s joys and sorrows. A man who made music come to life, who made music fun.

God Bless You Freddie…
xo
Corinna ;)

Do I know you, your name is oddly familiar, maybe was an old friend you know? Have you ever been to Helsinki? Remember be true to your own heart and love others as you love yourself. That’s what Freddis would like all of is to do.

Please… dont mock muslims. If Freddie is not a muslim, it’s fine, because he was gay, and always drank shampange and it was prohibited in Islam. I’m a Freddie fans, too. I just like his music, that’s all. Once again, please dont mock muslims, because I’m muslim too

He was born in Zanzibar, he’s from Zanzibar. I’ve never heard of UAMSHO chief Abdallah Said Ali but I have heard of the Freddy Mercury and Farrokh Bulsara; two men in one body. Tolerance is the key not prejudice. This is from a white, hetrosexual, meat eating, male.

Freddie was a Zoroastrian, and his lifestyle probably wouldn’t be appealing to most of his co-religionists. He and his family were not Muslim.

With respect to another issue, I believe people have the right to mock other religions, including Islam.
